Landuse

The term landuse is used to describe the function or use of an area of land. Large urban areas tend to have a number of landuse zones ranging from high density residential areas to industrial zones.

Landuse Models of Cities in MEDCs

Landuse models are theories which attempt to explain the layout of urban areas. A model is used to simplify complex, real world situations, and make them easier to explain and understand. There are two main landuse models that apply to urban areas in MEDCS (More Economically Developed Countries). The first is the Concentric Model (also known as the Burgess model)

The second is the Sector Model (also known as the Hoyt model).
